Maintenance

Typical interval: 20,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. Engine, model year and severe use may require a shorter interval; do not exceed the service warning. The listed oil approvals are not interchangeable: check the one for the engine. Brake fluid: generally replaced every 2 years; inspect the brakes at each service. B205/B235: suitable synthetic oil and attention to the oil pickup and crankcase ventilation on affected versions. These engines use timing chains; belt-driven 1.9 TiD engines often have a 150,000 km or 10-year interval, shorter according to model year and use.
