Tire Maintenance: Pressure, Rotation & Lifespan

Tires are your only contact with the road. Good maintenance ensures your safety and reduces fuel consumption.

Check pressure regularly

Check pressure once a month and before every long trip. Under-inflated tires increase fuel consumption, wear and blowout risk. Recommended pressure is listed in the driver's door or fuel flap.

Tire rotation

Rotate your tires every 10,000 to 12,000 km to balance wear. Front tires wear faster (traction and steering). Regular rotation extends their lifespan.

When to replace your tires?

The legal limit is 1.6mm of tread depth. But for your safety, change at 3mm for summer tires and 4mm for winter tires. Also check the manufacturing date (DOT code): beyond 5 years, rubber hardens.
