Engines
690: KTM LC4 690, 67 hp (49 kW), 2012 to 2015 690: KTM LC4 690, 73 hp (54 kW), 2016 to 2019 690 A2: KTM LC4 690, 48 hp (35 kW), 2012 to 2019
Maintenance
Typical interval: oil change every 7,500 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. Brake fluid every 2 years. On chain-driven models, lubricate and adjust the chain every 500 to 1,000 km. Plugs, valve clearance and air filter depend on the engine: see each version.
Body style and inspection points
On a motorcycle, tyres, final drive and brakes matter as much as the oil change. Check the tyre manufacturing date, steering-head play and fork-tube seals; an oil film on a tube means a fork seal needs replacing. A notched steering bearing can be felt when braking at low speed.
Comparing generations
Other documented generations of this model: • 690 Duke (2008) (2008–2011) : naked bike, 65–65 hp. A first registration near a generation change does not identify the car on its own: check the body style and powertrain before using a service schedule.
Maintenance: choosing the correct powertrain
