BMW 3 Series Coupé E92 and Convertible E93 (2006–2013)

The E92 Coupé arrived in 2006 and the E93 Convertible followed in 2007 with a folding hardtop. Their facelift came in 2010, after the Sedan and Touring. Engines already documented under E90/E91 retain those pages; this page adds body-specific details and the 272 hp N52 330i.

Body identification

E92 is the fixed-roof Coupé. E93 is the Convertible with a three-piece hardtop stowed electrohydraulically in the boot. The luggage partition must be in the appropriate position for roof storage. An engine page does not cover the roof mechanism. M3 and market-specific versions outside Europe are outside this page’s scope.

Shared engines and changes

The N52 325i, N53 325i/330i, N54 then N55 335i and N47, M57 and N57 diesels refer to the E90/E91 pages with matching engine and output. The same applies to N43 petrol four-cylinders. Do not transfer the years or body availability from those pages: they document the engine and its maintenance. The launch N52 330i Coupé already had 272 hp against 258 hp for the early N52 Sedan; the later direct-injection N53 330i also has 272 hp. Badge and output alone cannot identify the engine.

Vehicle maintenance

The VIII/06 E92 handbook lists engine oil, front and rear pads, cabin filter, brake fluid, spark plugs and vehicle check separately in CBS. Service groupings changed later: use the handbook edition matching production. Bring the key last used to drive the car and check the vehicle date. No universal oil-change mileage is added here.

Recall checks

ADAC documents campaigns involving the Takata driver airbag, heater blower controller and battery connection. Affected periods and versions differ: check the VIN and completed repairs. A shared engine page does not replace this vehicle-specific check.
