BMW 5 Series F10 / F11 (2010–2013)
The F10 Saloon arrives in March 2010, the F11 Touring in September 2010. In September 2011 BMW replaces several engines: the 520i and 528i switch to the N20 four-cylinder, the 525d to the N47 four-cylinder, the 530d rises to 190 kW and the 535d to 230 kW. The build month matters as much as the badge.

Documented servicing
CBS manages oil and filter, microfilter, air filter, spark plugs or fuel filter, brakes, brake fluid and vehicle check. BMW press sheets give each engine’s oil-change quantity; they sometimes differ for the same engine (N57: 6.2 to 7.2 l), hence the advice to check by VIN. The handbook consulted covers 2013–2017 F10s.
Recalls to check
For 2010–2013 ADAC cites the propshaft flexible disc (12/2010–06/2011), VANOS bolts on petrol straight-sixes (09/2009–11/2011), ignition coils (up to 12/2010), the 20i/28i vacuum pump (06/2012–08/2013) and the diesel EGR module. Only the VIN confirms eligibility.
