BMW 5 Series F10 / F11 facelift (2013–2017)

The facelift arrives in July 2013 with the new 518d and the M550d xDrive offered in both bodies. In July 2014 the 518d and 520d move from the N47 to the B47 (110 and 140 kW); the 525d keeps the N47D20D to the end. The 550i rises to 330 kW with the N63B44B V8.

ADAC dates the facelift Saloon 07/2013–2017 and the Touring 07/2013–03/2017; most Saloon versions end in 10/2016. The facelifted F07 5 Series Gran Turismo is not covered here. The F10 M5 (F10M) belongs to the M range and is not covered in this dossier.

Facelift F10 handbook: CBS, oil and filter plus microfilter at each oil service, spark plugs or fuel filter and air filter every second oil change, front and rear brakes, brake fluid and vehicle check. Top-up: 1 l, 2 l on the V8. BMW’s July 2013 press sheets give the quantities; Saloon and Touring differ for rear-drive 530d/535d.

Recalls to check

ADAC cites the water-exposed starter relay (August 2026 recall, 07/2014–11/2020), airbags with a faulty igniter mix (07/2016–12/2016) and the diesel EGR module. Only the VIN confirms eligibility.
